Kenneth Rushing Jr. CEO/Managing Partner

Kenneth Rushing Jr. is co-founder, CEO and Managing Partner of Rush Capital Fund, LLC. Mr. Rushing attended the University of Wisconsin-Baraboo where he studied business. He also received a diploma in creative real estate investing from the Professional Education Institute.

Prior to founding Rush Capital Fund, LLC, Mr. Rushing had remarkable business success as the CEO of First Time Development, Inc. and the Rehabber’s Superstore, Inc., where he acquired and disposed of $60 million dollars in distressed real estate assets.

In addition, Mr. Rushing is an accomplished real estate author, educator, and trainer to thousands of online subscribers to his “Flip Your Income” real estate newsletter. His sophisticated approach to real estate investing has landed him appearances on NBC, FOX, NY-1, TV-1 and BET. He has also lectured at Harvard University.

In 2008, Mr. Rushing founded Rush Capital Fund to acquire and dispose of Bulk REO homes and Non-Performing Notes nationwide. Under Mr. Rushing’s leadership and exceptional talents, Rush Capital Fund has been involved in millions of dollars in successful real estate deals.

Mr. Rushing resides in Tampa, Florida with his wife Katrice, and two children Kenneth III and Kayla Rushing.

Robert Gries, Senior Advisor

Robert Gries is Senior Advisor to Kenneth Rushing Jr. With a track record of managing Gries Investment Fund I & II, Mr. Gries will share in-depth knowledge and support on capitalization structuring, deal analytics and market research that will help make Rush Capital Fund, LLC a successful fund.

Mr. Gries is Managing Member of the Gries Investment Fund, LLC. The Fund is a collateralized lender targeting strong borrowers who may have temporary liquidity needs. His investments vary significantly from real estate to corporate opportunities as the Fund remains highly versatile.

Prior to forming Fund I, Mr. Gries originated transactions of a similar nature through Sports Funding, Inc., and its related affiliates. His loan portfolio includes professional sports franchises such as the Tampa Bay Lightning and Orlando Predators, as well as numerous real estate transactions. Mr. Gries is a Board Member and second largest shareholder of the Orlando Predators. He also serves on the Board of Directors of the Arena Football League.

Prior to forming Sports Funding, Inc., Mr. Gries was the managing partner of an entity which developed the 43,000 square foot WWE-New York entertainment facility in Times Square, New York. Mr. Gries oversaw the construction of the facility and negotiated the sale to the WWE in 2000.

Mr. Gries was a previous General Partner with Beacon Sports Capital, an investment banking firm. As a former director of the Cleveland Browns, Mr. Gries also assisted in the sale and negotiation of his families’ 43% interest in the franchise in 1996. The Gries family has been involved in professional football since the founding of the Cleveland franchise in 1936.

Mr. Gries resides in Tampa, Florida with his eleven year old daughter, Zoe, who was adopted from Wuhan, China in 1999.

* Provides collateral base lending for companies experiencing temporary illiquidity; also acquires distressed real estate, and companies.

Richard L. Welch, Vice-President Sales

Before coming to Rush Capital Fund, Richard most recently served as a Senior Loan Officer for LendingOne, an acquisition and improvement lender where he contributed dramatically to the overall production, growth and success of the company. He provided the leadership in loan origination, execution and management that established him as the leader in both the production and marketing divisions of the company.

He personally produced over 1,500 loans resulting in over $250 Million dollars in “Hard Equity” mortgages, and was the “Producer of the Year” for 6 straight years. Before the economy collapse and lack of lending capital forced the closing of LendingOne, Richard personally produced in the last year of operation over $47 Million Dollars in production which represented 45% of the company’s total production of $105 Million, which came from their overall operations in 11 states with 17 Loan Officers.

His experience dovetails with Rush Capital Fund and its overall mission by formerly being involved and assisting his clients with distressed real estate assets and providing the funding necessary for acquisition and improvement loans “for buy and hold” investors, as well as real estate wholesalers. As Vice-President of Sales, his focus will be on developing long term relationships with Private Equity Funds, Hedge Funds, and other high net-worth investors that appreciate dealing with a company that always has verifiable product and will always be committed to dealing with integrity in their business relationships with their clients.

Richard brings over 40 years of valuable business experience to Rush Capital Funding, and is dedicated to the success of Rush Capital Fund’s private equity investment business. Richard served in the United States Marine Corps, and then graduated from the University of New Mexico in 1967, where he earned his B.A. in Business. His experience in Marketing and Sales within the finance and insurance business fields, his experience as an independent business consultant and entrepreneur, make him a welcome addition and valuable asset to the company.
Richard has been married to his wife Pamela for 8 years and has three grown children and three grandchildren.  His hobbies include Golf and Travel.

Janice Van der Henst, Executive Assistant

At the core of The Rush Capital Fund, LLC is the belief that the Real Estate business is a business about “Taking Care of People.” For that reason, we employ a highly specialized team, which focuses on Business Processes Improvements of Inter-Office Systems.

To that end, Janice Van der Henst has served as a key member of our BPI Team since 2005. Her passion and commitment as an office administrator are second to none. As a career professional in this area, Janice is “living proof” that focus, dedication, and persistence is essential to success in any endeavor.

Our BPI (Business Processes Improvement) Team is the backbone of our operation, so that all office systems run smoothly.  Because of her skill-sets and professionalism, Mrs. Van der Henst is entrusted with the challenge of managing both the business and personal affairs of Mr. Rushing, as his Executive Assistant.

Janice was born and raised in Guatemala, Central America. She attended and graduated from a German Prep School. Her post secondary education was completed at Gibbs Business School, where she graduated as an Executive Trilingual Secretary.

Mrs. Van der Henst is happily married, with 5-children. She and her husband are blessed with four grand-children, so far. She is very active in her community and church, Our Lady of Lourdes.

Shari Coombs, Director of Client Relations

Shari Coombs is the Director New Business Development for Rush Capital Fund.  Shari joined Kenny Rushing in 2003 when he evolved the “Rehabber’s Superstore” concept of providing distressed real estate properties to his investors clients.  With her passion and dedication to the company she quickly became an indispensible asset to Mr. Rushing as indicated by her promotion within the company to Vice-President.

Her responsibilities included administrative duties of processing real estate contracts, dealing with banks and mortgage companies, working with the title companies, etc.  Her ability to communicate with the clients insured that everything involved the closing process went smoothly for everyone, and she also used her communication skills in prospecting and bringing new clients to the company.

In 2005, her husband, who is an ordained minister, felt the calling to start a new church and moved to Miami, FL. for a period of two years. They dedicated themselves to providing the gospel in every sense of the word to the hurting and the lost.  They aligned themselves with the police department and it’s organization “The Task Force of Overtown”.  Within the “Task Force” organization there were programs such as a Drug Intervention Program, “Habitat for Humanity” and an educational program, just to name a few.  Under the educational program, Shari and her husband were instrumental in creating programs such as “Operation Destiny”, feeding and clothing program, gifts at Christmas and a “Backpack” program for school children. During this time, Shari was also involved as a real estate investor in the Miami area and continued doing business with Mr. Rushing.

She now continues to work along the side of Mr. Rushing with Rush Capital Fund, allowing her the opportunity to use her many talents in the procurement of new business for the company.  Shari strength’s include the willingness to go the extra mile and she has the tenacity to succeed where others would fail.  She is most comfortable in her ability to build new relationships and continue the ongoing relationships with existing clients.  This has resulted in her creating a broad database of new clients that have become repeat customers for the company. Her experience as a real estate investor has also given her the experience and knowledge to be a valuable asset for Rush Capital Fund in the Bulk REO arena.

Shari completed her Master Pastor Internship program and also graduated from New Life Bible College.  She resides with Jody, her husband of 18 years, and has 2 girls, Jori and Jessica.  Shari’s free time is spent enjoying music, movies and the beach.
